Manchester United have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign midfielder Axel Witsel from Tianjin Quanjian during the ongoing transfer window.

Witsel had a good display for Belgium during the recent World Cup where they secured the third position and he has since attracted interest from some of Europe's elite.

Earlier last week, Borussia Dortmund were backed to acquire his services from the Far East but they have supposedly been reluctant to trigger his £17m release clause.

As a result, Tianjin are said to have offered their midfielder to a number of other European sides with United being particularly mentioned by German outlet Bild.

United are presently not in need of a new midfielder in their ranks after the emergence of Andreas Pereira but Jose Mourinho could be tempted to pursue one, should there be a surprise departure.

Paul Pogba is presently the sole United midfielder being linked with a summer exit with super-agent Mino Raiola said to have offered him to ex-club Juventus.
