Chelsea join race to sign Aston Villa midfielder
Chelsea have reportedly joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign midfielder Jack Grealish from Aston Villa this month.
Spurs have been tipped to sign the 22-year-old over the past few weeks with reports suggesting that they are prepared to pay around £20m for his signature.
However, according to The Sun, the Blues are now set to compete with their cross-town rivals for the midfielder, who has turned into a fan favourite at Villa Park.
Villains boss Steve Bruce has recently suggested that the club are in no rush to part ways with Grealish after the recent influx of cash from the new owners.
Nevertheless, the west Midlands outfit need to raise some funds in order to meet the Financial Fair Play requirements and Grealish's sale should help them balance their books.
Grealish has made over 100 appearances for Aston Villa since making his debut during the 2013/14 season. He is prepared to remain with the club for their promotion hunt, should a move not materialise.
