German defender still wants to join Manchester United
Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng is reportedly still keen on a move to Manchester United before the English transfer window closes on Thursday.
A recent report from Sky Sports suggested that the German had turned down the possibility of joining the Red Devils and he would prefer staying put with Bayern for the upcoming campaign.
However, the same publication have now reverted on their claims by suggesting that the Germany international still remains keen on working under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Aside from Boateng, the Red Devils are also interested in pursuing the services of Harry Maguire, and they are reported to have failed with an initial bid worth £60m for the Leicester City centre-back.
United begin their Premier League campaign against Leicester City at Old Trafford on Friday night. Prior to that, Mourinho is keen on bolstering the squad with at least one central defender of reputation and experience.
