Chelsea manager drops update on Loftus-Cheek's position
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has stressed that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is likely to stay put with the Blues until the New Year at the least.
The England international was recently excluded out of the matchday squad versus Arsenal and speculation has since linked with a possible loan move away from Stamford Bridge.
However, speaking in a press conference, Sarri has confirmed that Loftus-Cheek would most certainly remain at the club for the first half of the campaign.
"I have spoken with him twice this week, after I spoke to the club, so I think that Loftus-Cheek will remain with us. We can speak again about his situation, but only in December." he said via Metro.
Loftus-Cheek is presently attracting widespread interest from clubs in Spain and Germany but the Blues appear more or less certain to keep hold of him until the winter transfer window.
The 22-year-old is currently contracted to the Blues until the summer of 2021. He has managed just 33 appearances for the club since graduating through the youth system.
