Manchester United to rival City for Ruben Neves?

Ruben Neves news

Manchester United could rival Manchester City for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves, according to Goal.

Manchester City have been linked with a move for the Portuguese, with the champions looking to land him in January.

Mourinho is said to be keen on the midfielder and could move to land Neves ahead of City in the same manner he got Alexis Sanchez.

Manchester United could have the upper hand in the deal because Mourinho and Neves share the same agent in Jorge Mendes.

Neves has started the Premier League well for Wolves this term, scoring once and assisting a goal in three games.

He played 42 Championship games last season, scoring six goals as Wolves gained promotion to the Premier League.

In July, it was reported that the player signed a new five-year deal to keep him at the club until 2023.

The player is rated at £60m, a price that isn't too much if the 21-year-old can fulfil expectations as he grows in the game.
