Arsenal boss reacts to Mesut Ozil's performance
Arsenal manager Unai Emery was pleased with the performance of Mesut Ozil during the Gunners 3-2 Premier League triumph over Cardiff City on Sunday.
The German footballer had begun the season with a couple of below-par performances against Manchester City and Chelsea and he was thereafter excluded from the West Ham United game through an illness.
As such, there were suggestions that he could feature from the bench for the Bluebirds clash but Emery made the decision to recall Ozil to the first XI in Henrikh Mkhitaryan's expense.
Ozil could not make much of an impact during the course of the first half of the Premier League clash but he certainly upped his game with key contributions after the interval which pleased the manager.
"Ozil with his quality, we needed him to give us his moment of the match. In the second half he played a good match," Emery is quoted as saying by Sky Sports following the game.
With Ozil having retired from international football, he is set to get an extended break during the upcoming weekend and hopefully, he can produce another strong performance when Arsenal face Newcastle United in mid-September.
