Alan Shearer: Lack of games affecting Rashford
Former England striker Alan Shearer believes that Marcus Rashford's lack of games as a striker at Manchester United is responsible for his inabilities in front of goal.
The former Newcastle striker is saying this in reaction to Rashford's performance in England's 2-1 defeat to Spain in the UEFA Nations League over the weekend.
Rashford scored the Three Lions' only goal of game, but missed two other good opportunities to give England the win.
Writing in his column for the Sun, he revealed: "A centre-forward who is playing regularly in that position for his club probably would not have fluffed those."
José Mourinho usually uses a single striker for United and his choice has always been Romelu Lukaku.
Rashford is usually played out wide when he features for United, and since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January, his game time have been reduced considerably.
With Lukaku still playing and scoring for United, it is highly unlikely that Rashford will feature as a striker for José Mourinho anytime soon.
