Arsenal boss vows to field strong team in the Europa League
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has spoke about the importance of the upcoming Europa League campaign and has vowed to play the best team possible in the competition.
Under former boss Arsene Wenger, the Gunners saw extensive rotation between Europa and Premier League games and this witnessed the team lack cohesion during the backend of the tournament.
However, Emery does not seem intent on following the same route and he has stressed the importance of the competition, which offers them a chance to directly qualify for next season's Champions League.
“I have proven with my experience to know the best way to manage the players [in the Europa League]. My idea first isn’t to change 11 players for one competition and the next competition," he is quoted as saying by Metro.
Arsenal will be aiming for a third-straight win in the Premier League when they tackle Newcastle United on the road this afternoon. The Gunners suffered a 2-1 defeat last time around which was their first against the Magpies since 2010.
