Jose Mourinho eyeing surprise reunion with Arsenal midfielder
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly monitoring the situation of Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil with a view to a possible approach for his services in January.
The Germany international was heavily linked with the Red Devils last winter before penning a fresh £350,000-a-week contract with the Gunners, but he has since struggled to perform on a consistent basis.
As a result, Gunners boss Unai Emery has recently urged the midfielder to show an improvement on the playing field and The Express reports that United are closely tracking the German's position.
Ozil was deemed to have had a rift with Emery after he was excluded from the matchday squad versus West Ham United last month but the manager later clarified that the midfielder was left out due to a heavy cold.
The 29-year-old scored the match-defining goal during the recent 2-1 victory over Newcastle United and shortly after that game, he said that he has a good relationship with Emery and he is 'very happy' at the Emirates Stadium.
