David de Gea stalling over Manchester United deal?

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is reportedly said to have passed up the opportunity to sign a new long-term contract with the Red Devils.

The Spain international has been with the Mancunian giants since the summer of 2011 but he has not enjoyed the success he would have wished for with just one Premier League title to his name.

According to The Guardian, the Spaniard is understood to have put contract talks on hold with United once more despite expressing his love for the club and the faithful.

De Gea presently has under a year remaining on his existing deal with the Red Devils but that could be extended by a further 12 months, should the club trigger a 12-month extension clause written into his contract.

The Spaniard has recently expressed his concerns over playing in an artificial pitch against Swiss heavyweights Young Boys in the Champions League opener but he is very much certain to feature from the off.
