Manchester United enter race to sign Brazil international midfielder

Manchester United have entered the race to sign Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta from Flamengo, according to Le10 Sport.

The Brazilian international midfielder has been linked with with top European clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, but United are the latest club to join the race.

The 21-year-old who is regarded as one of the most talented youngsters in South America, has been attracting interest from Europe, the usual case when there is a top upcoming player from that side of the world.

He only made his debut for Brazil's senior national team this year, and it is not yet clear when United are likely to bid for the player.

He has played 21 games in the ongoing Brazilian Serie A, scoring six goals and providing one assist.

United already have two Brazilian midfielders in Fred and Andreas Pereira in their first team.

Manchester United face Young Boys in their Champions League opener on Wednesday and Jose Mourinho will be hoping to start on a winning note.
