Klopp praises Sturridge's performance

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reserved special praise for Daniel Sturridge after he bagged the opening goal during the 3-2 Champions League triumph over Paris Saint-Germain.

The England international has been a regular substitute for the Reds since the start of the season but he got the opportunity to start against Les Parisiens with Roberto Firmino only starting from the bench after his eye abrasion.

Sturridge went on to score just his second goal of the season but aside from this, he was a constant presence in the attack front where his workrate was admired by the fans.

Speaking after the game, Klopp was full of praise for Sturridge and he happened to admire the level of fitness exhibited during the 72 minutes he was on the field.

"Daniel played a super game. I have never seen him as fit as he is in the moment. He was everywhere. He helped left and right and he was in the box when he was needed," he is quoted as saying by The Independent.

With the victory, Liverpool are at the top of their Champions League group with a two-point advantage over both Red Star Belgrade and Napoli, who played out a goalless stalemate in the other fixture.
