Chelsea rejected £65m bid for Willian

Barcelona failed with summer approach for Willian

Chelsea are reported to have snubbed an offer worth £65m from Barcelona for the services of Willian during the summer.

The Brazil international fell out with manager Antonio Conte during the previous campaign and this led to suggestions that he could make way during the summer transfer window.

However, the attacker eventually stayed put upon the change in management and he has recently acknowledged that the move was influenced by Maurizio Sarri's arrival at Stamford Bridge.

In a report covered by The Star, it is revealed that the Blaugrana had indeed made a £65m bid for the Brazil international but the Blues knocked back their advances to keep the attacker at the club.

Willian presently has under two years remaining on his existing deal with the Blues but talks are said to be underway to prolong his stay by another 12 months at the least.

The Brazilian was on the scoresheet for the Blues on Thursday night as they sealed a close 1-0 win over PAOK Salonika in the Europa League group stage opener.
