Pogba makes decision to leave United

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly indicated Jose Mourinho of his desire to leave the club after being criticised on a regular basis for the club's showing this term.

The France international was recently slammed in the dressing room in front of his teammates following the 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers and he is said to have thereafter expressed his desire to part ways with the club.

According to The Mail, the World Cup winner is understood to have informed Mourinho of his intention to leave Old Trafford as he tries to push through a move to Barcelona.

It is added that Mourinho's decision to strip him from the vice-captaincy role was directly influenced by his comments earlier this week which may have also played a part in him being dropped for the League Cup tie.

United were regarded as genuine favourite to beat Frank Lampard's Derby County in the third round of the League Cup but they surprisingly fell short after suffering a penalty shoot-out defeat after a 2-2 draw in normal time.
