Tottenham Hotspur duo could miss Barcelona clash

Tottenham Hotspur duo Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele are deemed as potential doubts for the Champions League game against Barcelona in midweek.
The pair were substituted at the half way stage of the 2-0 Premier League win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon and Pochettino has since confirmed that the duo will be assessed to know the extent of their respective knocks.
We need to assess them (on Sunday),” Pochettino said via Goal.com “We’ll have an answer (on Sunday). We’ll see. We’ll see what happens if they are available for Wednesday."
Spurs have picked up back-to-back wins in the Premier League following their defeat against Liverpool following the international break and this run sees them move upto fourth in the standings with 15 points.
Pochettino's side side suffered a rather disappointing defeat to Inter during their opening game of the Champions League and they now face a potentially must-win fixture versus Barca, if they are to enhance their prospects of progressing beyond the group.
Aside from Dembele and Vertonghen, Dele Alli (hamstring) and Christian Eriksen (abdominal) are among the other key players out with injuries and the former is expected to be sidelined for at least a month.
