Sturridge: Every point counts in the EPL

Jurgen Klopp news

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has spoken on the importance of even a point after his wonder strike earned the Reds a draw away to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

Prior to the game at Stamford Bridge, Jurgen Klopp's side had won all their opening Premier League games this season.

Speaking after the game, Sturridge said, liverpoolfc.com reports: “Every point counts in the Premier League. It’s important for every club to try to pick up points and these games are important, but even if you drop points in these games it’s about having the consistency throughout the whole season."

Liverpool are currently tied on 19 points with league leaders Manchester City who are topping the table with a superior difference.

Liverpool have not won the English league title since 1990, and are expected to do everything they can to win one this term.

Up next for Liverpool is a trip to Naples to face Serie A side Napoli in the UEFA Champions League.

The Champions League game will come before the Reds' Premier League clash with Manchester City next weekend.
