Manchester United deny Zinedine Zidane rumours
Manchester United have reportedly dismissed suggestions that they have approached Zinedine Zidane with the possibility of replacing Jose Mourinho as their next head coach.
A recent report from BeIN Sports claimed that the United board had made efforts to contact the former Real Madrid manager shortly after the club succumbed to their third league defeat of the season to West Ham United.
However, according to The Mirror, a senior source from the club has now denied any contact made with the Frenchman while deeming the ongoing gossip as 'stupid'.
It is added that club's hierarchy are prepared to give Mourinho more time to sort out the club's average league run despite the major section of the fanbase being against the Portuguese manager.
United endured their worst start to a top-flight campaign in 28 years after the 3-1 defeat to West Ham on Saturday and this sees them nine points behind table-toppers Manchester City after just seven league matches.
