Joe Rodon wanted by Manchester City
Man City are considering a move for Swansea City defender Joe Rodon. The highly-rated centre-back has forced his way into the Welsh club's first-team and City coach Guardiola has deployed his top scout to monitor Rodon's progress.
The emerging talent, who spent a short spell on loan with Cheltenham Town last season prior to making his first-team debut for the Swans' this campaign, has caught the eye of many observers, leaving Swansea manager Graham Potter concerned that Rodon could head for a move elsewhere. Potter has told the young defender to focus on his development with his current club as opposed to moving elsewhere.
Rodon is out of contract next summer and Potter told reporters of a potential move away for Rodon: “We need to do this quickly and that’s something we’re working on as a club behind the scenes.
“Joe is a young player who is still at the start of his career. He’s clever and mature enough to know he’s only played nine matches. He knows he’s in the best place for him and in an environment which suits him."
