Arsenal want Mexican midfielder to replace Aaron Ramsey?
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to make a winter approach to sign Porto captain Hector Herrera as they are resigned to losing the services of Aaron Ramsey.
Ramsey, 27, has yet to pen a contract extension with the Gunners beyond the summer of 2019 and reports indicate that he could either leave in January or as a free agent at the end of the season.
Amidst this, a number of players have been highlighted to replace the Wales international and according to A Bola, the Gunners are said to have a keen eye on recruiting Herrera.
It is added that the Gunners are already keeping tabs on the midfielder, having watched him during the recent Champions League game versus Galatasaray with a view to a January approach.
Like Ramsey, the Porto skipper is currently in the final year of his deal with the club and he could be available on a cut-price deal when the transfer window reopens in three months' time.
