Zidane frontrunner to replace Kovac at Bayern

German champions Bayern Munich are reportedly said to be leading the race to appoint reported Manchester United target Zinedine Zidane as their next head coach.

Zidane guided Real Madrid to their third straight Champions League crown last season but he thereafter handed in a resignation amid concerns regarding the transfer policy at the club.

Since then, the Frenchman has been regular linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United but according to RMC Sport, Bayern are now said to be leading the hunt to pursue the 46-year-old.

Niko Kovac is currently under immense pressure with Bayern having gone without a victory in four successive matches and it is suggested that the board may consider a change, should the poor run of form extend.

Bayern have made their worst-ever start to a league season in eight years this term and they are currently placed sixth on the table with a four-point gap to pace-setters Borussia Dortmund.
