Manchester United confident of David de Gea extension
Manchester United remain confident of rewarding goalkeeper David de Gea with a new contract despite their average start to the 2018/19 season.
De Gea has already entered the final year of his deal with the Mancunian giants but the club have the option to prolong his stay by another 12 months.
According to The Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils have never been more confident of extending De Gea's contract with the Spaniard no longer on the radar of Real Madrid.
Los Blancos were constantly associated with the Spaniard's signature over the past three years but the signing of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea during the summer has all but ended their search for a world-class shot-stopper.
As such, United are sure of tying up a deal with the former Atletico Madrid graduate, who has regularly revealed his love for the club on international duty with La Roja.
Manchester United have won just four of their opening eight Premier League games this term and their run sees them seven points off the top of the standings.
