Arsene Wenger comments on Aaron Ramsey contract situation
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has commented on Aaron Ramsey's ongoing contract situation at the Gunners. Arsenal have retracted their contract offer amidst discussions over salary and the player will now be free to leave the Emirates Stadium next summer.
Welsh international Ramsey is likely to have dozens of options from home and abroad as the midfielder will be able to leave the club on a Bosman transfer come August.
It is understood that Man Utd and Liverpool are both weighing up offers for Ramsey, but Real Madrid are also amongst the teams rumoured to have shown interest in the Arsenal man.
Wenger, the former Arsenal manager, told reporters on Ramsey's situation: "We tried that before and it still can happen. I don’t really know what’s happening at Arsenal.
"Sure, Aaron Ramsey is in a strong position now and he will use this position. But I don’t know how far Arsenal will go in terms of giving him a huge contract. These things were once my responsibility, but not anymore. I’m happy about that."
