Real Madrid in for Sterling

Real Madrid have reportedly intensified the pursuit of Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling following his sublime showing in England's Nations League triumph over Spain.

The 23-year-old ended his three-year wait for an international goal with a brace against La Roja and this appears to have impressed Los Blancos scouts, who were in attendance during the game, The Mail reports.

The European champions have been keeping a close eye on the Englishman since the backend of the previous campaign and they could now step up their interest amid his fragile contract situation.

At present, Sterling has just 20 months left on his existing deal with the Citizens and the failure to sign a contract extension by the end of the campaign may witness him being sold next summer.

Sterling was one of the many standout performers for Pep Guardiola's team last term and he contributed 23 goals across all competitions en route to their historic Premier League triumph with 100 points.
