Daniel Sturridge ready to sign fresh Liverpool contract
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is prepared to pen a new long-term deal with the club after making an encouraging start to the current campaign.
Sturridge made just six league appearances for the Reds during the first half of the previous season and he was thereafter loaned out to West Bromwich Albion where he failed to make any notable impact.
Amidst this, there were suggestions that the Reds could offload him when he enters the final year of his contract during the summer but a strong pre-season has meant that he has retained the faith of Jurgen Klopp.
According to The Sun, the Reds are prepared to extend his contract beyond the current campaign and they are ready to offer him a £140,000-a-week with terms to be structured on his appearances.
Sturridge has largely featured from the bench during the ongoing campaign but he has still managed to make a notable impact with four goals including one which came during the dying stages of the league clash against Chelsea to level the scores.
