Manchester United join hunt for Fiorentina attacker
Manchester United are reportedly among the top clubs vying to secure the signature of Federico Chiesa from Fiorentina in the January transfer window.
The Italy international is regarded as one of the best and upcoming forwards in the Serie A and his form this season has already attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea and Juventus.
However, according to Calciomercato, United are also said to hold an interest in the 21-year-old with Jose Mourinho keen to reinforce the squad at the turn of the year.
Mourinho is likely to be handed a £100m transfer budget for the forthcoming transfer window and the Portuguese may consider using part of the kitty to tempt La Viola into a mid-season sale.
United are also keeping a close watch on the proceedings of Chiesa's teammate Nikola Milenkovic with Mourinho eager to recruit another central defender in the New Year.
Manchester United are currently seventh in the Premier League standings with 20 points, four adrift of Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently occupying the final Champions League spot.
