Manchester United midfielder leaning towards Valencia move?
Spain international Juan Mata could reportedly prefer a return to Valencia next summer, should there be no progress in terms of contract discussions with Manchester United.
The 30-year-old presently has just eight months remaining on his existing deal and so far, United have yet to kickstart talks over a probable extension beyond next summer.
According to France Football, Mata is said to be content at Old Trafford and he is prepared to wait for the entire season to know the outcome of his club future.
Should United fail to act, however, the former Chelsea man could fancy a reunion with Los Che, where he enjoyed an impressive four-year spell between 2007 and 2011.
Mata has become a regular under Mourinho across all competitions since October and he recently came off the bench to change the complexion of the game versus Juventus.
The attacker scored via an exquisite free-kick which put United level at 1-1 before an Alex Sandro own goal ensured a win which appeared improbable for vast parts of the Champions League clash.
