David Luiz keen on Chelsea contract talks

Brazil international David Luiz is reportedly keen on extending his contract with Chelsea beyond the end of the ongoing campaign.

The 31-year-old found himself on the fringes of the first-team during the previous season and he managed just 10 appearances in the top-flight.

However, the current campaign has paved differently for him with 12 matches already in the Premier League and this has increased the speculation of him staying put beyond next summer.

According to Goal.com, the 31-year-old wants his contract extended beyond the ongoing campaign after being ever-present under Maurizio Sarri for the league duties.

Nonetheless, the west London giants have yet to open contract negotiations with the Brazilian and they may wait until the backend of the season to do so based on his performances.

Luiz could earn only a one-year contract extension based on the Blues' shrewd contract policy for players aged above 30. The Brazilian should feature for the Blues when they face Tottenham Hotspur on the road this weekend.
