Liverpool identify Real Madrid attacker as prime transfer target
Liverpool have reportedly earmarked Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio as their prime target for next summer's transfer window.
The Spain international was linked with a potential move to Anfield during the summer but Los Blancos were seemingly reluctant to sanction his sale.
He has since enjoyed a regular run in the starting lineup with Los Blancos but his showing has been far from impressive with just one La Liga goal this term.
According to OK Diario, Jurgen Klopp remains keen on pursuing Asensio's signature and he is confident of prising him away from Madrid at the right price next summer.
Asensio has contributed 23 goals and a further 13 assists in over 100 appearances for the European champions. He is currently contracted to the club until the summer of 2023.
The attacker was disappointing during the shock 3-0 league defeat at Eibar over the weekend and it will be interesting to see whether he makes the starting lineup for the upcoming Champions League game versus Roma.
