Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has reportedly been linked with a surprise return to the Serie A with AS Roma leading the race for his signature.
The Giallorossi impressed under the tutelage of Eusebio Di Francesco during the previous campaign where they secured a top-four finish alongside reaching the Champions League semi-final.
However, the Capital outfit have been far from impressive this term with an 18-point gap already to league leaders Juventus and this has resulted in the club considering the manager's position.
According to Panorama, the Serie A outfit are planning a possible change before the turn of the year and they are likely to approach to make an approach for the out-of-contract Conte.
Nonetheless, the deal may not be straightforward with the Italian in a dispute with Chelsea regarding a severance package while he is also said to fancy a bigger challenge elsewhere.
The 49-year-old has recently been linked with both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain but the former appear the more likelier to part ways with the manager by the end of the season.
