Real Madrid boss wants to sign this Manchester United star

Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari is reportedly looking into a potential deal for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, who has just seven months remaining on his Old Trafford contract.

The Spain international has been in-and-out of the United team under Jose Mourinho this term but he has nonetheless played a crucial role with key strikes against the likes of Juventus and Newcastle United.

Despite this, there has not been much progress in terms of extending his contract with United and according to El Gol Digital, Los Blancos could swoop for his services on a pre-contract agreement next month.

Mata spent time with Real Madrid during his youth career and he followed to feature 39 times for the reserve team before heading to Valencia in the summer of 2007.

The former Chelsea man has already netted four goals and two assists for the Red Devils in 16 appearances this term and he is likely to feature for them against Valencia in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
