Arsenal boss keen on signing experienced La Liga midfielder
Arsenal boss Unai Emery is reportedly keen on acquiring the signature of Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega when the transfer window reopens next month.
Banega had been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium during the summer but a move never materialised with the club option to sign Lucas Torreira and Mateo Guendouzi instead.
Still, the Gunners manager is said to hold an interest in the Argentina international and according to Rosario3, the club could lodge an offer of around £18m to prise him away from Sevilla this winter.
Banega previously worked under Emery at Sevilla between 2014 and 2016 before making the switch to Inter Milan. However, he managed to only last one season with the Serie A side before returning to the White and Reds.
At present, the Argentine has 18 months remaining on his existing deal with the club and it will be interesting to see whether they would prefer accepting a mid-season deal, given they are just three points off the top of the table.
