Arsenal express interest in Manchester United midfielder?
Arsenal could reportedly seek to acquire the services of Juan Mata from Manchester United when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Spaniard has spent the past seven-and-a-half seasons in English football and four of those have been with the Red Devils, where he is currently a squad player.
According to The Mirror, a number of Spanish teams are looking into the situation of Mata, who could potentially leave on a free transfer from Old Trafford when the season concludes.
It is added that they could face competition from Unai Emery's Arsenal with the Spanish tactician wanting a reunion with the midfielder, who has proven Premier League experience.
Mata has recently spoken fondly about his development under Emery at former club Valencia and the prospect of reuniting is something he may consider in case he decides to leave United on a Bosman.
The former Chelsea man has yet to show any intention of extending his United contract amid reports suggesting that he may have to take a paycut on his current £170,000-a-week wages.
