Arsenal hold transfer discussions over Rennes winger?

Arsenal are understood to have held discussions with Rennes regarding a possible summer deal for Senegalese attacker Ismaila Sarr.

The 21-year-old has been in good form for the French outfit during the course of the current campaign and he has amassed 10 goals and 11 assists across all competitions.

According to Goal.com, the north London giants are said to have discussed the progress of Sarr with Rennes shortly after the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 stage which the French club won 3-1.

The Gunners went on to eliminate Rennes from the competition after a 3-0 win in the reverse fixture at the Emirates, but they are still understood to have been impressed with Sarr's showing across both legs.

Sarr, who has previously been in the ranks of French minnows Metz, has earned 20 caps with the Senegal national side. His current contract with Rennes expires at the conclusion of the 2020/21 season.
