Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has spoken about the ambition of leading the side to trophies after being handed with the permanent head coach role.

Ole was confirmed as the club's permanent manager on a three-year contract yesterday following an impressive showing over the past three months where he excelled in the interim role.

Shortly after penning the deal, Ole revealed his ambition to help the club return to their glory days, he told the club's official website: "I'm just going to be myself as I've always been. I know the expectations of the club, the traditions of the club, the history we've got."

"Of course, I want to be successful, of course I want to lift trophies, but I can't wait to get onto the job, onto the challenge of improving this great bunch of players because it's a squad full of potential."

United were reluctant to spend on big-name signings during the previous summer transfer window but that could change at the end of the current campaign with the club aiming to catch up with the title challengers.

Jadon Sancho and Hirving Lozano have been earmarked as probable options to strengthen the attacking department and the club are being fancied to make multiple marquee signings in the summer.
