Liverpool planning contract extension for England international?
Liverpool are reportedly planning to offer a contract extension to midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has recently returned from a long-term knee injury.
The England international recently made his first appearance of the season during the final stages of the 5-0 league win over Huddersfield Town following a year on the sidelines.
According to The Mirror, the Reds have been impressed with the midfielder's return from a serious knee problem and they are planning to reward him with a year's extension on his current deal, which expires in the summer of 2022.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is likely to make the matchday squad for the midweek Champions League semi-final clash against Barcelona on the road, but it remains to be seen whether he makes the playing field.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has previously cited that the attacker may not feature regularly during the remainder of the season with the club cautious of any setback after the long-term recovery from a horrific knee injury.
