Chelsea star confirms he is set to sign a new contract
Chelsea defender David Luiz has confirmed that he will commit his future to the west London giants in the next five days.
The Brazil international has been in a contract standoff with the Blues over the past year due to his demand for a multi-year contract but he seems to have finally agreed to extend his stay beyond the summer.
Speaking after the Eintracht Frankfurt game, Luiz confirmed that he is on the cusp of signing a new deal, he said: "Yes I think so. Soon everybody is going to know. It will be before the Europa League final, in five days."
Luiz was at fault for conceding an away goal against Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of the Europa League semi-final but the club nonetheless progressed through a penalty shoot-out after the scores were level after two legs.
The only setback from the game resulted from the injury to Andreas Christensen but Sarri will be hoping that the Dane will return to the fray for the competition's final at the end of the month.
