Herrera confirms United exit

Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera has confirmed that he will be parting ways with Manchester United when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has failed to finalise a contract extension with the Red Devils in the past few months and he has now officially announced that he will end his association with the club this summer.

“Every time I represented this club, in every game, in wins and losses, even when I couldn’t help from the grass, I understood what this club means. Thanks for these five amazing years," he told the club's official website.

French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain have been constantly tipped to pursue the Spaniard in the past few months and reports indicate that a Bosman move could be announced shortly after United's final game of the season.

The midfielder is likely to sign a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 holders on wages of around £160,000-a-week. He could make his final bow for United against Cardiff City on Sunday.
