Atletico Madrid to beat Chelsea to the signing of PSG striker?

Atletico Madrid are reportedly leading Chelsea in the race to sign Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The La Liga outfit are expected to part ways with Antoine Griezmann at the end of the season with the club confirming the news through their official website on Tuesday night.

As such, they are keen on pursuing a potential replacement and El Larguero claims that Les Parisiens star Edinson Cavani has been earmarked as their prime target.

It is added that Chelsea are also in the running to sign the former Napoli man, but the Madrid giants may have the advantage as they are prepared to offer Costa in exchange to finalise the deal.

Aside from Costa and Griezmann, Atletico have depended on the services of Alvaro Morata on loan during the backend of the season but they have yet to decide whether to purchase him or extend his temporary deal beyond the summer.
