James close to Manchester United transfer?

Manchester United are reportedly close to securing their first summer signing with Daniel James fancied to join them from Championship side Swansea City.

The 21-year-old made his breakthrough for the Swans during the recently-concluded Championship campaign and his performances are said to have captured the attention of several Premier League sides.

Among those, United are said to be the most high-profile club interested and according to Evening Standard, an initial deal worth £15m is due to finalised for his services this summer.

James has generally plyed his trade on the left wing for the Swans this term but United don't seem to hold a concern in the position with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial available.

Still, the board seem keen on adding more promising talents for the wider role, considering the above-mentioned duo did not experience the best of endings to the recent league campaign.

Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho had previously been earmarked as United's prime target but the German club's no-sale stance appears to have switched their attention towards James.
