Manchester United are 'very close' to signing Serie A defender
TalkSPORT presenter Andy Goldstein has revealed that Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of sealing a transfer agreement for Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Red Devils endured a disappointing end to the recent Premier League season as they finished sixth on the table and that is expected to trigger a spending spree this summer.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, Goldstein, who is also associated with MUTV, revealed that the Mancunian giants have made significant progress towards landing Koulibaly, he said: "The Koulibaly thing, I’ve heard good things that him coming to Utd is very close."
United failed with a £95m bid for Koulibaly prior to the 2019 winter transfer window and they may have to pay more than £100m to convince Napoli into doing business this summer.
Aside from the defence, the club are weighing up targets to bolster the heart of the midfield amid the uncertainty over Paul Pogba's future while Ander Herrera has decided to leave the club on a free.
