United to swoop for Cillessen

Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a move for Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen as they face uncertainty over the future of David de Gea.

De Gea has been with the Red Devils for the past eight seasons but his future remains uncertain beyond the summer with his contract expiring in 13 months' time.

According to The Record, the Mancunian giants are wary of the potential departure of De Gea this summer and they have already begun the search for a probable replacement.

The same publication claims that Cillessen has been earmarked as the prime candidate to replace the Spaniard, given he is prepared to part ways with the club at the end of the season.

Cillessen has been with the Blaugrana for the past three seasons but he has publicly confirmed that he will end his association with the club this summer to secure regular first-team football.

The Dutchman is likely to make his final appearance for the Blaugrana during his month's Copa del Rey final against Valencia. He has won the competition in each of the past two seasons with the club.
