De Gea rejects United's final contract proposal

Manchester United are reportedly facing the prospect of losing goalkeeper David de Gea this summer with the Spaniard said to have declined the chance to sign a new deal.

The Spain international has just completed his eighth season at Old Trafford but his future is apparently hanging in the balance with his contract expiring in 13 months' time.

According to The Sun, the 28-year-old has turned down United's final contract offer on the table with the package failing to meet his £350,000-a-week wage demands.

It is added that United may now assess the future of their first-choice shot-stopper, considering they risk losing him on a Bosman transfer at the end of next season.

Paris Saint-Germain are currently said to be leading the race for the former Atletico Madrid graduate after showing intent to match his salary demands for a long-term deal.

De Gea has made more than 350 appearances for the Mancunian giants since joining them from Atletico Madrid in 2011. He is currently said to be valued at around £60m.
