United still in for Rabiot?

Manchester United have yet to give up on the signing of midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Rabiot did not make a single appearance for Les Parisiens in the backend of the season and that came about from his refusal to sign a new contract beyond the 2018/19 campaign.

A recent report from L'Equipe suggested that Rabiot could end his contract standoff with Les Parisiens, given they have recently recruited a new sporting director in the form of Leonardo.

However, RMC Sport has now counteracted the claim by stating that the midfielder is still likely to leave Les Parisiens on a Bosman when his contract expires this month.

United are set to end their association with Ander Herrera when his deal concludes at the end of the month and Rabiot has been earmarked as a probable replacement for the Spaniard.

Rabiot is understood to demand a weekly wage of around £170,000 and that remains well within the range of the Red Devils, who are expected to spend big after a disappointing sixth-placed finish in the league last term.
