United reject Lukaku-Icardi swap

Manchester United are said to have rejected the chance to sign Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi in a straight-swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku this summer.

Icardi has had his fair share of disciplinary issues over the past year and reports have indicated that he will head through the Nerazzurri exit door with new boss Antonio Conte not keen on working with him.

Amidst this, United have been fancied to make a swoop for the former Sampdoria man but Sky Sport Italia reports that they have rebuffed a swap proposal from the San Siro giants.

Conte is understood to hold a keen interest in signing Romelu Lukaku after missing out on signing him at Chelsea but United don't seem keen on the prospect of an exchange deal.

Lukaku had a disappointing 2018/2019 season where he contributed just 15 goals and he could yet part ways with the Red Devils, should they pursue another top-class marksman this summer.
