Manchester United are understood to be discussing with three European clubs regarding the potential sale of Matteo Darmian this summer.

The 29-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is planning numerous changes to the first-team squad ahead of the 2019/2020 season.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils have opened discussions with three European sides and they are keen to finalise the departure of the former Torino man.

The same publication claims that Valencia are one of the teams interested and United are still hoping to garner at least half of the £12.7m paid for Darmian four years ago.

Darmian, who made just seven appearances for United last term, was previously linked with the likes of Napoli and Inter Milan amid his preference to return to the Serie A.

During that period, the Red Devils had placed a £20m price tag on his head and that swayed away the suitors from discussing a potential transfer agreement.
