Liverpool decide against Pepe move

Liverpool have reportedly told Lille that they won't be making an offer for Nicolas Pepe during this summer's transfer window.

The Ivorian had a fantastic campaign for Lille where he amassed 23 goals and 12 assists last term and that helped the French outfit qualify for next season's Champions League.

Since then, the Reds have been linked with the attacker at regular intervals but according to The Liverpool Echo, they are said to hold no interest in landing his signature.

The same outlet claims that the Reds' sporting director Michael Edwards has been in personal contact with Lille boss Christophe Galtier to indicate that the club won't be making a summer approach.

Regardless of this, Pepe could still part ways with the French side, considering the likes of Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are weighing up possible moves.

Pepe, who has three years remaining on his contract with Lille, has previously turned down big-money moves to the Chinese Super League. He is currently valued at around £68m.
