Arsenal to keep Ozil for next season

Mesut Ozil is reportedly set to remain with Arsenal beyond the summer, considering the club have not been able to find any suitors for his services.

The German footballer penned a fresh £350,000-a-week contract with the Gunners at the start of 2018 and he has two years remaining on the same deal.

According to The Mail, Gunners boss Unai Emery has been open to the prospect of selling the former Real Madrid but so far, the north London club have found no interested parties.

The same publication claims that the player's wages have played a key role over the lack of interest and the Gunners will have to stick with the midfielder for the forthcoming campaign.

Ozil has been largely inconsistent in the past few seasons for the Gunners and the recent campaign saw him contribute just five goals and two assists in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old has racked 231 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal to date.
