Dalot free to leave Manchester United

Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot has reportedly been told by Manchester United that he can pursue a fresh challenge following the recent arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Portuguese full-back was recruited by former boss Jose Mourinho last summer and he went on to make 23 appearances during his debut campaign with the Old Trafford outfit.

It was anticipated that the young defender would replace Ashley Young as the first-choice right-back next season, but the recent capture of Wan-Bissaka has meant that he would continue playing the deputy role.

According to Evening Standard, Wan-Bissaka is certain to command the right-back spot after the £50m move from Crystal Palace and that is set to hamper the gametime of Dalot.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told the 20-year-old that his playing time would remain restricted for the 2019/2020 season and he is therefore free to pursue a new challenge elsewhere.

Manchester United have been quite active during this summer's transfer window and they have also landed the signature of Daniel James in addition to Wan-Bissaka.
