Nicolo Zaniolo wanted by Tottenham

Tottenham are ready to make Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo their next transfer target. The White Hart Lane side have already been locked in talks with the Serie A side regarding a £40 million transfer move for the Italian international.

Tottenham are confident that the club can beat Juventus, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to the signing of Zaniolo, but only if the player agrees to leave Rome. 

Zaniolo's agent Claudio Vigorelli has revealed that as yet no talks have begun with any Italian club: "To date, as far as we are concerned, no negotiations are underway with any international or Italian club."

The 20-year-old appeared 35 times for Roma last season in what many believe the youngster proved himself to be one of Italy's brightest young prospects.

The player's agent continued: "We have heard a lot about Zaniolo, Roma and his contract in recent weeks.

"Given the media attention to which Nicolo was subjected at national and international level, it is important to make some clarifications.

"Nicolo is a heritage of Roma who believed in his talent first and foremost."
