Youri Tielemans signs for Leicester City
Leicester City have agreed a club record fee to sign Youri Tielemans from AS Monaco. The French club and the Foxes agreed a £40 million transfer fee for the 22-year-old Belgian international midfielder, and likely completes Leicester City's transfer activity for the summer.
Foxes' manager Brendan Rodgers has moved swiftly to complete his transfer business this summer, having already signed Ayoze Perez from Newcastle United and now Tielemans.
Tielemans had been linked with a move to Man Utd after flourishing in the Premier League last season whilst on loan at Leicester City.
Tielemans told reporters: "It is such a great feeling to sign for this club. Ever since I arrived on loan last season, all the players, the staff and the fans have been fantastic with me, so I’m thrilled to be able to become a Leicester City player.
"I believe that we have the talent in our squad to achieve something special and for any player, that’s an exciting thing to be a part of. I really can’t wait to get started again with this club and do everything I can to help my teammates."
